About the Friends of Waring Park

We are a passionate community group that was set up in 2020 to help preserve the park for all users.

We are working together to protect and cherish Waring Park for generations to come. We have planted many new native species in the entrance avenues since we started and have already seen an increase in a number of native birds and mammals that had been struggling in previous years.

We have work parties most weekends (weather permitting) and often have other sessions for specific jobs such as watering and bigger maintenance and planting jobs.
